Friday December 1, 2oo6. First Day of the 2006-07 Snowmobile Season.
Its off to a good start! Snow started arriving mid-morning continuing through late afternoon. The roads were so white it was difficult trying to see where you should drive on the road and not off the road. Unless maybe you had a four wheel off road vehicle. Which I do not. I was glad to return home to my driveway.
We ended up with about 6 inches. Over by our sons, Lake Leelanau they got 12 inches. Manistee is reporting 16 inches!
The forecast is encouraging for this being the start of our winter snow pack. Cold temps are to continue. Right now we're at 20 degrees. And Lake Effect to be coming through next several days.
We've been tossing around the idea of bundling up and just zipping around a little bit tonight, taking the sleds for their first romp in the white stuff.
Sparky, Rays Retreat 1 year old Golden Retriever greeter loves it! He was zipping around and burrowing through the snow with his nose, rolling in it and letting it fly. He's a true Northern Michigan dog.
